Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant / Medical Office Staff Member to join our dynamic healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include clinical tasks, administrative support, and patient care activities across various specialties such as Internal Medicine and Weight Loss and outpatient clinics. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate documentation.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support when necessary.
- Support patient care activities by updating medical histories, documenting symptoms, and managing ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for accurate billing and records.
- Skill and experience with injections and phlebotomies also assist the physician with clinical work as needed
- Manage administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, maintaining patient records, and coordinating referrals or follow-up visits.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in outpatient or inpatient settings within hospital medicine or outpatient internal medicine /primary care
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documentation related to ICD coding and medication administration.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience working in internal medicine settings is a plus.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, specimen collection, X-ray assistance, and emergency response procedures confidently.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations.
