What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative position at Southern Maryland Towing, Inc?
Southern Maryland Towing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to coordinate and manage dispatching operations within our towing and hauling company.
The ideal candidate will oversee vehicle dispatching and facilitate efficient communication between drivers, clients, and internal departments. Candidate must have effective communication and customer service skills, be a team player with ability to motivate others, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to deal with conflict resolution , capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records, and have the capability of operating relevant computer systems. Being a self-starter with excellent work ethic and a positive attitude is essential.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using dispatching software.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls from drivers, clients, and internal teams with professionalism and courtesy.
- Utilize GIS, GPS, and other tools for determining the appropriate driver for each call.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding dispatch instructions, DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery updates via phone call management and internal communication channels.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Previous dispatch experience or college education is a plus, but the company is willing to train an entry level individual with the right qualifications. Hours will consist of mainly evenings, overnight, weekends and some holidays.
Clean background required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
