STARTING SALARY RANGE: $42,767.86 - $59,200.72
RESPONSIBILITIES: SMCC is seeking a full-time faculty with extensive practical culinary experience to teach introductory and advanced baking and pastry courses. Instructional topics may include basic and advanced baking and pastry skills, artisanal breads, classic and contemporary pastries, cookies, cakes, tarts, pies, contemporary desserts, cake decorating and chocolate work. Responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours or the equivalent each semester; advising students; developing, modifying, and assessing the effectiveness of curricula; participating in department/college activities; committee work and college service, particularly activities that will enhance the academic life of the college; professional development activities, and other professional duties related to the position. Appointments begin at the instructor level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- Formal culinary education from an accredited cooking school or apprenticeship or comparable baking/pastry experience
- Ten or more years of work in baking/pastry
- ServSafe Manager Certified
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- ACF Certification of Sous chef or above
- Five years college teaching experience
- Academic leadership experience
