Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily lawn care and landscaping activities, ensuring quality standards are met across all projects
- Lead and motivate a crew in performing grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation setup, and hardscape installation
- Manage basic irrigation systems—identifying issues and correcting simple problems
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and maintenance practices are followed
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and company vehicles
- Oversee construction projects related to landscaping or outdoor improvements from start to finish
- Enforce safety protocols on-site to maintain a secure working environment for all team members
- Provide training and mentorship to crew members on landscaping techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening with outdoor work environments
- Strong supervising or team management experience with the ability to lead a crew effectively
- Knowledge of horticulture practices including plant identification and tree care techniques
- Hands-on experience operating grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment safely
- Familiarity with irrigation systems
- Construction experience related to outdoor projects or hardscape installation is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles responsibly
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions
