About us
Southern Import Specialist has been in business since 1983. We're a
used car dealership, buy-here-pay-here finance company, and salvage
yard — all operating from Pearl, Mississippi.
The role
We're hiring one person to run the entire business. This is not an
assistant manager position. You will have the keys: the dealership,
the loan portfolio, and the salvage operation.
Responsibilities
- Full day-to-day ownership of dealership operations, including
opening and closing
- Manage the buy-here-pay-here loan portfolio: underwriting standards,
collections, and delinquency control
- Oversee the salvage yard and parts operation
- Hire, lead, and hold the team accountable
- Own the P&L and drive profitability across all three business lines
Qualifications
- Buy-here-pay-here management experience — required, no exceptions.
You have run a BHPH portfolio and managed delinquency firsthand.
- Salvage yard experience — required. We operate a working salvage
yard and you need to know that business.
- Proven operator: you have opened the doors in the morning and locked
them at night.
- Long-term mindset: we are hiring someone to plant a flag and stay.
Compensation
- Base salary in the $60,000s
- Quarterly profit share above a net-income hurdle
- Collections gate: profit share pays in full when portfolio
delinquency stays under target
- Annual bonus when yearly profit beats the prior year
