Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.

What You Will Do
- Develop and deliver programming, communications, and initiatives that promote academic and personal success for online student populations.
- Design and implement outreach and communication strategies to reengage out-of-touch or at-risk online students.
- Monitor online student progress and engagement through systems like Blackboard and Starfish, creating reports and identifying trends.
- Provide individualized support and mentoring to help students define and achieve educational and career goals.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to advocate for and enhance student success and well-being.
- Maintain accurate student records, confidentiality, and current knowledge of campus services to provide “one-stop” student support.
- Participate in professional development and contribute data, reports, and recommendations to improve student success initiatives.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management and follow up skills
- Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities
- Ability to build relationships, work independently and provide good judgment
- Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- 2 years or more of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement, retention, and persistence
- 2 or more years of experience providing support in a virtual capacity
- 2 or more years of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment
- 2 or more years of experience using various contact methods including chat or text
- Experience serving online and adult student populations
