What You Will Do
- Directs all aspects of curriculum design and development for mandated student sexual assault prevention, and employee sexual assault awareness training. Leads the effective implementation of training plans to ensure institutional compliance
- Develops comprehensive plan and budget for all campus EOA outreach and educational programming. Directs the finances for robust schedule of programs throughout the year, and implements budget allocation and resources.
- Utilizes detailed and professional knowledge of EOA topics to work as primary liaison to campus, student, and community departments to support prevention efforts and raise awareness of sexual harassment. Directs the planning and logistics for all programming. Researches and identifies potential grants or related funding sources, develops and writes grant proposals to support outreach and education efforts.
- Directs every aspect of state mandated bi-annual campus climate survey and serves as primary liaison with the University's confidential advisor resource provider Metro East Every Survivor Counts (mandated by the Illinois Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act).
- Directs student staffing overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training, and management of work assigned. Develops requisite curriculum, designs training, and provides teaching and instruction to individual students/employees, as well as group training for student organizations, office teams, and academic settings.
- Position creates, interprets, develops, and oversees the implementation of policies and procedures related to the rights of pregnant and newly parenting students under Title IX, and student requests for religious waivers of vaccination requirements. Provides oversight in all areas of the University's Title IX Pregnancy and Newly Parenting Policy/Academic Accommodation Process including the receipt of and response to student requests for pregnancy related academic accommodation requests. Directs case management of students in these areas with focus on supporting long term student success.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position
- Advanced Degree in related field including Master’s Degree in Social Work, Student Affairs, Education, Public Health; terminal degree such as J.D., M.B.A., Ed.D., etc.
- 1 additional years of experience working in sexual misconduct, interpersonal/domestic violence prevention programming, project coordination, curriculum development in education or nonprofit organization. Experience to include leadership in developing and implementing programming.
- Years can be concurrent with above
- Experience developing/promoting/leading educational programs and initiatives. Strong written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. General knowledge of legislation relevant to sexual misconduct prevention and education in a University context. Case management experience and skills. Excellent customer service skills and ability to manage addressing needs of University populations.
