As an LPN at La Plata County Jail, you’ll play an important role in providing quality patient care in a safe, secure, and structured healthcare setting.

Your responsibilities include:

• Delivering hands-on nursing care and monitoring patients’ symptoms, responses, and progress.

• Documenting patient care accurately and collaborating with healthcare providers on treatment plans.

• Administering medications in accordance with nursing standards, provider orders, and correctional healthcare guidelines.

• Performing patient assessments and responding to emergencies using sound clinical judgment.

• Practicing within your state’s scope of practice and following SHP policies and procedures.
