POSITION SUMMARY

 

Summary: Individual will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day monitoring and compliance with Fraud Alert and Investigations as an intermediate analyst.  

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review fraud related alerts in the Verafin system to determine if potential fraud exists. 
  • Reach out to the appropriate bankers for assistance in clearing the transaction(s) with the client and escalate those instances where fraud is suspected for potential SAR filing and remediation of the fraud. 
  • Create and work cases on Fraud Alerts deemed potentially suspicious.
  • Submit high quality casework to senior analyst for SAR filing.
  • Review ad hoc reports for possible instances of fraud that require remediation and escalation for additional review potential SAR filing.
  • Review alerts generated within the Verafin or other systems related to OFAC/314a/PEP in order to clear items that are not true hits.  Assist other departments of the bank with clearing alerts generated related to OFAC/PEP.
  • Review incoming disputed transactions related to Zelle, Bill Pay, etc. to determine if fraud occurred and assist the client with remediation efforts.
  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner with individuals located within the bank as well as clients.
  • Provide guidance and coaching for junior analysts.
  • Identify possible gaps in fraud detection and mitigation strategies in place.

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES OR DETAILS

 

Fraud Analyst II may also be asked to assist with the following tasks:

 

  • Assist bankers in determining risk associated with potential new entities unknown to the bank.
  • Review outstanding Red Flags alerts and ensure appropriate remediation.
  • Assist with data integrity reports to ensure data reflected in the Fraud monitoring system is accurate.
  • May participate as a technical resource for compliance exams and audits.
  • Assist with document collection for investigations and subpoenas.

 

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent, required.
  • 4-year degree preferred, but not required.
  • 3 years of AML or Fraud experience.
  • Some prior experience in AML or Fraud required.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel and knowledgeable in Word.

  • Willingness to provide ownership of the tasks assigned and provide feedback for process improvements.
  • Work with minimal oversight and confidence in decision making ability.

 

WORK CONDITIONS

 

  • This position must be able to sit for long periods of time as the position involves the majority of time spent at a computer.
  • This position requires little to no travel.
