Southern Careers Institute (SCI) is seeking a Clinical Coordinator for our new Nurse Program at Brownsville Campus!
Responsibilities

We offer certification-based training with programs in Medical, Business, Cosmetology, Skilled-Trades and Technology with campuses spanning across central and south Texas as well as online. Our students can graduate most of our programs in under one year and with real-world experience under their belt.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates clinical site selection, affiliation agreements, and rotation schedule for the AAS in Nursing program
- Supervises and evaluates clinical faculty performance.
- Makes regular on-site clinical agency visits
- Attends the pre-course clinical coordinating meetings with clinical faculty and agency staff
- Provides support to and mentors faculty in their role as clinical educators.
- Coordinates orientation of faculty to assigned clinical sites
- Responsible for faculty plan to insure inter-rater reliability in the clinical evaluation process.
- Provides input into faculty evaluations.
- Assists in assuring faculty are present in clinical sites per teaching assignments.
- Covers for or arranges coverage for faculty absences from clinical site assignments.
- Participates through Faculty Assembly, in curriculum development, implementation and evaluation
- Participates through Faculty Assembly, in development, implementation and enforcement of standards/policies for admission, progression, probation and dismissal of students.
- Maintains expertise/competence in area of specialty by attending conferences, seminars and/or schools as required; reads and keeps current on latest technology and requirements in the area of specialty. Contributes to the growth of the profession.
- Current expertise and knowledge of clinical nursing role in a variety of health care settings.
- Ability to communicate and impart knowledge to others with enthusiasm and confidence.
- Remains current with health care and nursing standards for all clinical areas.
- Current Texas RN license
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree, preferably in Nursing. Preference is that the Master’s Degree is in Nursing (MSN). If Master’s Degree is in another Discipline, shall hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least six (6) credits of graduate semester hours in nursing
- Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject area to be taught
