SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist will perform professional-level human resources work while utilizing independent judgement in the administration and implementation of HR programs. This role partners with leadership across the organization to ensure compliance with employment laws, employee relations matters, and supports organizational objectives through effective and efficient HR practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Company reserves the right to modify, interpret, and assign duties and responsibilities as business needs evolve, and management retains discretion over operational decisions within the scope of this role.
- Serve as primary point of contact for employees and management, interpreting and applying HR policies procedures and employment laws.
- Partner with HR leadership and department managers to interpret policies and procedures, employment laws, and internal practices.
- Independently assess and resolve employee relations issues and escalating complex matters as appropriate along with reasonable recommendations.
- Support recruitment processes to ensure compliance and consistency while effectively providing guidance to leaders across the organization.
- Administer onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Assist the team with onboarding of new hires and offboarding of separated employees ensuring alignment with organizational needs and expectations.
- Analyze HR data and metrics including but not limited to, turnover, trends, and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Support and deliver HR training and internal communications.
- Participate in workplace safety initiatives and compliance as established by state and federal guidelines.
- Administer and manage leave of absence programs (FMLA, CFRA, etc.) and oversee worker’s compensation claims, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Exercise independent judgement in prioritizing work, resolving issues, and making recommendations impacting employee operations.
- Review and update department documentation and participate in the edit/update process.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance protocols to ensure compliance.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field preferred; Human Resources or equivalent experience preferred but may be supplemented by years of experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in Human Resources required.
- Experience handling employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations and administering HR Programs in California preferred.
- Strong professional communication skills with the ability to use diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when interacting with employees, management, and external partners.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably ADP),WFN, MS Office, and HR analytics.
- Collaborative attitude with a desire to provide exceptional HR service
- Ability to manage multiple projects with completing deadlines.
