Position Overview
The K–5 Certified Educator is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of elementary students. This role requires a passionate, student-centered educator who fosters a positive classroom culture, differentiates instruction, and collaborates with colleagues and families to ensure student success.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons aligned to state standards and school curriculum.
- Develop and implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Utilize data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Integrate technology and instructional strategies to enhance student learning.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in a timely manner.
Classroom Environment & Management
- Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies aligned with school-wide expectations.
- Promote positive student behavior and character development.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Administer formative and summative assessments.
- Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and interventions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.
- Participate in RTI/MTSS processes as needed.
Family & Community Engagement
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom updates.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Collaborate with support staff, administrators, and colleagues to support student achievement.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and required trainings.
- Comply with all school policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the charter school.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid state teaching certification for Elementary Education (K–5).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary instructional best practices.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Education or related field.
- Experience working in a charter school setting.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies.
- ESL, Reading Endorsement, or Special Education certification (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors.
