Position Summary
The Instructional Facilitator supports high-quality teaching and learning across the elementary grades by coaching teachers, modeling effective instructional strategies, leading professional development, and using data to drive instructional decisions. The facilitator collaborates with staff to implement curriculum and instructional best practices aligned with the charter school’s mission and academic goals, ensuring equitable and rigorous learning for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
- Provide on-site coaching and feedback to teachers to improve instructional practices and student engagement.
- Model effective, culturally responsive teaching strategies across subject areas.
- Collaborate with teachers in lesson planning, differentiation, and assessment design aligned to standards.
Professional Development
- Design and facilitate ongoing professional learning aligned with school improvement goals and instructional priorities.
- Lead teacher data meetings, instructional rounds, and peer observations.
- Support the implementation of the school’s instructional frameworks, curriculum, and assessments.
Data-Driven Instruction
- Analyze school, classroom, and student data to identify trends, monitor progress, and guide instructional decisions.
- Work with grade-level teams and individual teachers to develop targeted intervention plans.
- Support implementation of formative and summative assessments, including benchmark and state assessments.
Collaboration and Support
- Serve as a liaison between teachers, administrators, and instructional support teams.
- Participate in school leadership team meetings and assist in aligning instruction with schoolwide initiatives.
- Support new teacher onboarding, mentoring, and induction programs.
Curriculum and Instructional Resources
- Stay current on best practices, curricular changes, and research-based strategies in elementary education.
- Assist with selecting, developing, and adapting instructional materials and digital tools.
- Ensure alignment of instruction with charter school performance standards and accountability requirements.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid teaching license/certification in elementary education
- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum planning, instructional coaching, and adult learning strategies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred:
- Experience in a charter or high-performing urban school setting
- Training in instructional coaching, professional learning communities (PLCs), or similar models
- Knowledge of MTSS/RTI, literacy and numeracy frameworks, and culturally responsive pedagogy
Working Conditions:
