Job Description
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Payroll Clerk to add to our team....IMMEDIATELY This FULL-TIME position requires you to be in the office and on top of your game in order to keep things moving efficiently and effectively for our team members at our Automotive Dealerships throughout the Hampton Roads region, so reliability and dependability is a must PREVIOUS PAYROLL EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED If you are detailed, organized, and have a positive attitude, then you belong here in the Administrative Office of Southern Auto Group.

With this being a FULL-TIME position, we will need you in the office Monday thru Friday (your weekends are always your own of course) to keep things moving as smoothly as possible. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, GED, and/or relative Payroll experience. Candidates must have strong administrative, computer, and organizational skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile biweekly payroll data from time sheets and information provided by the parts and services directors
- Calculate vacation pay for non-hourly employees
- Update master payroll records, new hires, wage changes, tax and benefits deductions, compensation increases, etc. Transfer employees between departments or locations
- Process payments for insurance benefits
- Process uniform deposit refunds
- Record sales and employee service contributions, and company match for the Christmas/Longevity bonus program
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school, GED, or equivalent employment experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information
- Mathematical Skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding in order to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
