Job Overview-Southern Atlantic Law Group is seeking to add an experienced litigation paralegal to its dedicated team. Must have Paralegal Certification to be considered. This is not a remote position. Please submit 3 references with resume.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee assigned cases from initial filing through trial, verdict, and post-judgment proceedings.
- Prepare, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and other legal documents in both State and Federal courts.
- Draft discovery requests and responses, file discovery materials, and monitor discovery compliance throughout litigation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
- Coordinate scheduling of hearings, depositions, meetings, and all critical case deadlines; maintain accurate calendaring and notifications.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars and assist with travel arrangements or logistics as needed.
- Deliver timely and high-quality paralegal support, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed within firm deadlines and standards.
- Support trial preparation, including creation of trial binders, exhibit organization, document redactions, and related tasks.
- Input and maintain detailed case information and updates in the firm’s case management database and systems.
- Meet billable hour criteria
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of continuous experience in civil litigation (required)
- 2 years of experience in business litigation preferred but not required
- Experience in appellate practice preferred but not required
- Paralegal certificate required
- Excellent client communications skills
- Strong multitasking skills, highly organized, and detail oriented
- Able to excel in a fast-paced work environment, take direction and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
- Able to manage a large caseload and comply with deadlines
- Knowledge of State and Federal rules, processes, and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the ability to become proficient in firm technology programs
- Proficient in legal research techniques and tools (Westlaw)
- Proficiency in Clio practice management system preferred but not required
- Experience in billing time
- Familiar with court procedures, courtMap, JAWS and e-filing via e-portal
- Experience in drafting legal documents including demands, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation documents
Work Location: This is an in-person job only. Remote work is not available for this position.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
