Job Summary: The Mid-Level Provider is a compassionate and experienced clinician who delivers comprehensive primary and urgent care services to a diverse college campus, including students, faculty, and staff. Education and Experience: Five years of experience in ED/Urgent care and/or General Family Practice, and the successful completion of an accredited Mid-Level Practitioner Program with certification. BLS certification is required.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a strong clinical knowledge base encompassing the etiology, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation, and epidemiology of various medical conditions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with a diverse student population. Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously are important in a fast-paced environment. A strong commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and patient confidentiality is expected.
Typical Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds and the use of full PPE, including gown, gloves, N95 respirator, and face shield. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate computers, telephones, perform exams on patients, perform lab tests, and give injections. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
Working Conditions: Essential tasks are performed in a standard healthcare/clinic setting. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinical settings.

Scope of Responsibility:
- Provide direct primary care services to the student population, including physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of common acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
- Provide urgent care services to faculty and staff.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab and X-rays, and prescribe appropriate medications and other therapeutic interventions.
- Work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, which may include physicians, nurses, and mental health professionals, to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure precise, thorough, and prompt patient chart documentation, including the application of the correct ICD-10 coding.
- Ensure the patient care aligns with the University and healthcare standards.
- Refer patients to other health professionals, both on and off campus, when necessary.
- Participate in on-campus health promotion and wellness programs.
- Participate in the development and updating of medical protocols in collaboration with medical leadership.
- Maintains total confidentiality in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and FERPA
- Attends continuing education annually and maintains certifications and licensure.
- Attends scheduled UHC staff meetings.
- Involved with and attends University health-related committees on campus.
- Participates in all registration events.
- Procedure competence: Laceration repair, burn care, wound management, I&D, lesion removal, and follow-up.
