What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Seed Specialist position at Southeastern Seed Company?
Titan AG and Southeastern Seed Company are seeking a high-performing Regional Seed Specialist (RSS) to lead growth in the Mid-South. This role is focused on building our presence in a key geography through dealer development, direct sales, marketing execution, and long-term team growth.
In the short term, the RSS will be responsible for setting up new dealers, generating sales, leading local marketing efforts, managing test plots, and handling NCGA entries. As the business grows, this position will take the lead in building and managing a dedicated seed sales team within the region.
This role reports directly to the Brand Lead at Southeastern Seed and works closely with the leadership team to carry out the strategic direction and long-term vision for the brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dealer Development:
- Identify, recruit, and support a high-performing network of independent dealers. Provide tools, training, and ongoing support to help them grow their business.
- Sales Execution:
- Drive seed sales throughout the region by building strong relationships with dealers and key growers. Help position products effectively and deliver results.
- Team Building & Leadership:
- Over time, recruit, develop, and manage a sales team focused on expanding Southeastern Seed’s footprint in Zone 4.
- Leadership Collaboration:
- Work directly with the Brand Lead and leadership team to execute company strategies, support brand initiatives, and ensure alignment with broader business goals.
- Marketing & Visibility:
- Lead local marketing initiatives including field days, digital outreach, brand signage, and promotional campaigns that build recognition and trust.
- Plot Work & Agronomic Trials:
- Manage the planning, oversight, and reporting of regional test plots. Use in-field data to support decision-making and drive sales.
- NCGA Entry Oversight:
- Coordinate and manage National Corn Growers Association entries for your region. Support participating growers and showcase top-performing genetics.
- Grower & Product Support:
- Serve as the boots-on-the-ground expert for seed placement, product knowledge, and field troubleshooting. Be a resource to both dealers and farmers.
Qualifications:
- Experience in seed sales, agronomy, or ag retail
- Strong knowledge of corn and soybean production systems
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently
- Leadership potential and desire to build a team
- Excellent communication, planning, and follow-through
- Experience with test plots and trial evaluation is a must
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region
