ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To)
- Coordinates and instructs presentations, workshops, and evidence-based programs in a variety of community settings.
- Attend community outreaches, meetings, and coalitions as necessary to maintain relationships and build relationships with community partners.
- Assist with social media health communication via Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Assists with surveys and community-based focus groups as they relate to the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan.
- Performs data analysis and creates visual presentations of findings.
- Assist with a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities. Contributes to and/or prepares portions of technical memoranda, reports and presentations.
- Conduct community asset mapping utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Manages the preparation of public health reports for the Health Department and its constituent units.
- Plans and participates in Emergency Preparedness exercises and related training.
- May operate a county vehicle while performing assigned duties.
- Complies with P.A. 390 as amended, known as the State’s Emergency Management Act and the County’s Emergency Management resolution as well as all related plans, policies, and procedures covered by these statutes.

- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Planning, Health Administration, or related field (required).
- One (1) year of experience in public health, community health, health promotion, health planning, or related area (preferred).
- Knowledge of public health program planning and evaluation methods.
- Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting for community health assessment, program evaluation, and QI.
- Ability to develop, coordinate, and implement programs, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data visualization/infographic tools.
- Experience with GIS, statistical software (e.g., R), and survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Alchemer, Qualtrics) preferred.
- Strong independent work, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, partners, and the public.
- Knowledge of the Michigan Public Health Code and core public health frameworks preferred.
- Ability to effectively speak, write and understand the English language.
- Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
