Your impact on the team’s mission
The Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) has lived experience with mental health and substance use and is comfortable utilizing their recovery experience to instill hope and optimism in others. Peer support services are individualized and recovery focused to promote the development of wellness and personal recovery in others and where you will make an impact sharing your journey!
Some of the daily activities you would do as the CPSS are:
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and consultation to promote recovery, self-advocacy and self-direction in individuals you are supporting.
- Teach functional skills-med management, finances, health care, resources, daily-living, self-advocacy.
- Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action.
- Case management, linkage to services and education, daily documentation
- Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with MH/SA/IDD concerns is necessary.
Position details, compensation, and benefits!

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities you will bring.
- High school diploma or GED.
- NC Certified Peer Support Specialist
- A current driver's license, valid insurance, and reliable transportation for daily work travel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed!
