What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Technician position at SOUTHEASTERN BAPTIST THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY?
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Utility Technician is a full-time position that involves a variety of functions consisting of but not limited to:
Framing, roofing, siding, and window & door replacement/installation.
Cabinetry and countertop replacement/installation.
Drywall patch & repair, finish carpentry, and painting.
General handyman repair/replacement of fixtures.
Mitigation, restoration, and remediation of water damaged structures.
Areas of responsibility include:
Executing interior and exterior maintenance, repair, and improvement work orders.
Proper coordination with Facilities teams for daily & weekly objectives.
After hours on-call shift duty: Approximately one week every 2 months, including weekend and holiday coverage.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete reactive work orders for occupants in a timely manner. – 60%
Complete preventative and/or improvement work orders as needed. – 25%
Assist with the completion of specialty projects as needed. – 15%.
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to perform and/or learn basic carpentry skills involving hand and power tools.
Ability to evaluate situations/ scenarios and develop a plan of action to complete given tasks.
Ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, the SEBTS community, and various contractor personnel.
Ability to perform basic physical demands... Walking, lifting, equipment operation.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be a current SEBTS student or spouse of a SEBTS student
Must be at least 22 years old.
Must have a clean driving record.
Must have basic knowledge relating to the construction industry.
Preferred 1 year construction related experience.
