Maintenance Technician I
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for assisting in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of both rolling stock and fixed manufacturing equipment. This position ensures that equipment is operating safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support continuous production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with preventative maintenance and basic repair tasks on rolling stock and production equipment under supervision.
- Inspect machinery and equipment regularly to identify potential issues.
- Support troubleshooting efforts on mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic problems with equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), when servicing equipment.
- Help maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas.
- Perform routine tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, belt replacements, and part swaps.
- Assist with equipment installation and relocation projects.
- Collaborate with production and other departments to minimize equipment-related disruptions.
- Report any unusual equipment behavior or safety concerns immediately.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to increase technical skills.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with tools and diagnostic equipment used in maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on, industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding conditions (e.g., standing, climbing, kneeling).
- Valid driver's license; forklift certification is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to loud noises, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
- Able to work in hot and dusty conditions
