Overview
The incumbent in this position will work under the direction of the Section Manager. This requires caring for children from the ages of six (6) months of age through eighteen (18) years of age. Care to include, but not limited to, providing a safe environment, changing of diapers/pull-ups, feeding infants, and calming upset children. Communication with the Section Manager and Director should a child need disciplinary action above 'time out', safety issues, ideas for improving the children's area, in the case of an ill child, a child with continued bad behavior, or a child who is crying uncontrollably. This incumbent must also keep this area clean. Additional duties may be added and section amended at any time with administration approval.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Licensure: NA
Experience
Certifications: Infant and Child CPR First Aid - Must complete within first 90 days of employment through Mercy
Other: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Good oral, auditory and visual skills. Must be able to calm upset children, use re-direction tactics. Must be capable of interpreting needs of children, interpret complex instructions and demonstrate high-level cognitive skills.
