Security Guard - Shelter

Join our team at Friends of the Homeless, where we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for men experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a Security Guard to help ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of our guests and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor premises to prevent and respond to safety issues.
• Conduct regular security checks throughout the shelter.
• De-escalate conflicts with professionalism and empathy.
• Maintain clear and respectful communication with guests.
• Work closely with shelter staff to uphold shelter policies and procedures.
• Document incidents and maintain accurate logs.

Part-time weekend shift available: Saturdays and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in security or a similar role preferred.
• Ability to stay calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Training in CPR/First Aid and de-escalation techniques a plus.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
