What are the responsibilities and job description for the Connections Ministry Leader - La Grange Campus position at Southeast Christian Church?
Our mission is to connect people to Jesus and one another. The Connections Pastor has accountability for guiding all adults who attend the LA Campus to take the next step in their spiritual growth. This is accomplished primarily through the engagement process of connecting them inside the walls of the church and through our groups model. This pastor will ensure the alignment with the overarching mission, vision and strategies of Southeast Christian Church.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Work with the Associate Campus Pastor and multi-campus disciple-making team to develop and implement strategies for the LA Campus.
- Primary oversight to equipping, shepherding, recruitment, and retention to all group leaders. Both included home groups and on campus groups.
- Primary oversight to systems and process for our groups model (Home groups and on campus).
- Oversight of the engagement process; including Starting Point and Membership Classes. To provide a pathway for people to grow from guests to engaged members. In alignment with Southeast’s disciple-making strategy.
- Provide pastoral care and oversight for adult groups in partnership with other LA campus staff.
- Lead the Decision Guide and Baptism Assistant volunteer teams. Leading baptism conversations, and communication with LA staff team.
- Lead the Connections Ministry staff team at LA (Women’s Ministry Lead and Guest Experience)
- Participate in normal pastoral responsibilities, such as, hospital visitations, baptism, weddings, funerals, Minister On Call, etc.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of what Biblical disciple-making means and the ability to communicate it to others.
- Capacity to explain doctrinal issues and answer questions in a biblical and understandable manner.
- Ability to identify, shepherd, recruit, train, and empower staff, volunteers and group leaders.
- Highly relational with strong people skills with the ability to inspire people toward action.
- Strong work ethic and a team player who interacts well with staff, members and guests.
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Bible, Ministry, or Christian Education degree preferred.
- 5 years ministry experience in a church setting.
- Ordained pastor or willingness to become ordained.
- Live in Oldham County or willing to relocate in the first year.
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one.
