What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Southeast Caissons, LLC?
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Drill Rig Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair drilling rigs and related equipment. This role requires hands-on experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and diesel systems, as well as the ability to diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate or assist with repairs that may require machining or fabrication.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on drill rigs and heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field and in the shop
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for major repairs or rebuilds
- Work with machine shops to repair or fabricate parts when needed
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Maintain service records and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
- Assist with welding, fabrication, or modification of equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
Minimum of 3 years' experience required - Average of 40-60 hours per week - Position requires some travel - HOURLY PAY WILL BE BASED ON EXPERIENCE REGARDLESS OF WHAT AD SAYS!
