Summary: Under minimal supervision, directs and coordinates all facets of the operations of the Registrar’s Office including student registration and records, class schedules, graduation clearance, athletic eligibility, prerequisite implementation, prerequisite/non-payment drops, and other related matters. Plans and develops strategies for maintenance and upgrading of the College’s academic information infrastructure including records retention and on-line student system. Must have the ability to investigate and analyze information; provide technical advice and information to colleagues; develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals; maintain confidentiality of information and records; and to foster a cooperative work environment. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Organizes and oversees departmental operations
- Develops budget plans and forecasts staffing needs
- Ensures compliance with federal regulations
- Formulates and implements departmental policies and procedures
Authority / Accountability:
- Works under minimal supervision
- Reports to the Dean of Students and Enrollment Management
- Ensures accuracy and confidentiality of student records
- Approves office policies and enforces academic policies
Problem Solving:
- Identifies and implements improvements to office procedures
- Analyzes tasks for automation and recommends computer applications
- Evaluates and recommends new software solutions
- Manages budget allocations effectively
- Develops documentation strategies and identifies staff training needs
- Collaborates with faculty on registration and advising process optimization
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus three to five years related experience including two years supervisory experience required.
- Experience with academic computer software or student records required. Demonstrated, expert knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field. Experience with Ellucian Student Information Systems.
