Southdale Eye Clinic in Edina has an opening for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Ophthalmic Technician. The clinic is privately owned and run, and provides a friendly and low stress work environment.
Responsibilities:
-Ability to perform manifest refraction
-Obtain medical history/medications and update medications as necessary
-Rooming patients
-Asses pupillary functions
-Perform lens neutralization
-Obtain intraocular pressure measurement with Goldmann applanation tonometry
-Administration of topical eye drops
-Occasional setup and assistance of minor procedures
-Occasional phone communication with patients
-Triage phone messages
-Must be professional, punctual, dependable and have good communication skills
-Courteous interactions with both patients and staff
-Perform any other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
-High school or equivalent
-Knowledge of medical terminology
-Knowledge of ophthalmic imaging & visual field testing
Qualifications:
-COA, COT or COMT course completion and test eligible.
-One year or more of ophthalmic technician experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
