The district is presently undergoing extensive turnaround at all levels, with the assistance of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This creates unique opportunities for teachers and students. One example is a long-term partnership with the University of Connecticut to develop Southbridge Schools to be a national demonstration site for successful implementation of PBIS strategies. Position: Program Leader Early College Career Explorer Program
Reports to: Director of Early College
Effective Dates of Employment: Jan - May with programming during February and April Vacation Weeks, Feb 17-20 and April 21-24. Other training and single filed trip dates TBD.
Hours: 8:00-2:00
Salary: $50 per hour
The Career Explorer Program Leader will oversee all aspects of the program, including responsibility for coordinating daily details, following program activities and workshop curriculum, providing safe and enriching experiences for students. Collaborating with community coordinators from partnering programs to ensure positive experiences and efficient transitions to and from job shadow and career exploration experiences. Provide daily summary and photos to the Director of Early College for promotion of the program on social media.

Requirements/Qualifications
- At least three (3) years successful teaching experience preferred/(not required)
- Instructional experience at the school site preferred
- Previous experience in summer or after-school programming and a desire to support students in career exploration opportunities
- Strong project management and coordination skills
- Ability to implement and model PBIS routines and expecctations
- 100% attendance and daily on-time arrival is expected throughout program week
- Attend mandatory planning meetings before program begins
- Dates: February 17-20 and April 21-24 other training and single filed trip dates to be determined.
- Coordinate logistics related to the start of the Career Explorer Program
- Support in the student recruitment efforts using email, phone, flyers, and other outreach strategies
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained at the program site, including emergency contact information, medical records, and permission forms for off site field trips.
- Implement program curriculum, escort students on field trips and support students in completing projects and maintaining engagement
- Maintain timesheets for any support staff working in the program.
- Create and cultivate a safe and positive culture and climate for students and with community partner program coordinators.
- Responsible for attendance, supervision, and discipline of all students
- Coordinate daily arrival, dismissal, and other transitions, ensuring they are safe and efficient
- Serve as a point person for all questions or concerns related to students, teachers, and/or families. Ensure prompt and accurate resolution of questions or concerns as needed
- Ensure open and two-way communication with families
