Assistant Coach – Junior High Football

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Coach - Junior High Football.

Position Summary

The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in developing a positive, safe, and competitive football program while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and student-athlete growth. Responsibilities include assisting with practices, games, supervision of student-athletes, and ensuring compliance with District, Section XI, and NYSPHSAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the game of football.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with middle school student-athletes.
• Must meet all New York State coaching certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and conducting practices.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, and team activities.
• Promote good sportsmanship and positive character development.
• Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe playing environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
