MECHANIC

A diesel mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines used in various vehicles and equipment, such as trucks, buses, and construction machinery. The job requires a strong understanding of diesel engines and their components, as well as the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
• Diagnose and repair engine problems, such as faulty fuel injectors, worn bearings, and malfunctioning turbochargers
• Inspect and test engines to determine the extent of damage or malfunction
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and analyze engine performance issues
• Repair or replace engine components, such as pistons, bearings, and gaskets
• Reassemble engines and test for proper performance
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a diesel mechanic training program or apprenticeship
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine problems
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and tools
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in tight spaces
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
