Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Oversee accounts reconciliation activities using accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms
- Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and support budgeting and forecasting efforts for various departments
- Support regulatory reporting requirements related to securities law, governmental accounting standards, or nonprofit accounting regulations
- Assist with internal audits and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls
- Contribute to financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making and strategic planning
- Mentor junior accountants on technical accounting issues such as accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts
- Support tax preparation activities by maintaining accurate records of taxable transactions and supporting tax experience initiatives
