Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possession of a CDL with school bus passenger endorsement
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills required in word processing, database management, and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of school guidelines and school board policies
- Working knowledge of Synovia GPS Tracking System
- Working knowledge of Synovia TAA (Time and Attendance System)
- Ability to assign Activity Buses and Vehicles in Travel Tracker
- Knowledge of TIMS (Transportation Information Mapping System) and/or equivalent system/software
- Working knowledge of Fortress Bus Camera System
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates daily routing and driver assignments
- Create schedules for substitute drivers
- Substitute driver on a bus as needed
- Ensures buses are kept clean and repair requests are submitted
- Provides new drive route ordination
- Monitors Synovia GPS tracking and TAA system for accuracy
- Assist with routing evaluation to ensure safe and efficient bus stops
- Assists TIMS Coordinator regarding route changes and updating information
- Reports routing and student assignment issues to the TIMS Coordinator
- Coordinates additional related program routes with TIMS Coordinator and Drivers
- Investigate accidents; prepares initial paperwork; obtain pictures; assist at scene
- Assist administrators with resolving conflicts regarding bus routing and student issues
- Reviews, maintains bus camera system and provides video as needed; reviews video at school administrators’ request
- Overseeing and managing clock ins/outs and payroll for drivers and monitors
- Assist with coordinating activity bus and vehicle assignments
- Responsible for assisting with preparation of annual DPI Pupil Transportation Reports
- Assist other Route Coordinators as needed
Additional Duties:
- Assist as needed in the Transportation Department Office
- All other Transportation related duties as assigned by the Director
Qualifications:
- 5 years of school bus driver experience is preferred.
- Supervisor or leadership experience preferred.
