About the Role:At South Sound Pediatrics, it is our mission to provide the highest quality of comprehensive pediatric and adolescent medical care from birth until young adulthood in a caring and compassionate environment.We are a high-energy, multi-provider pediatric clinic, looking for an experienced medical receptionist to join our team. Duties include answering phone calls, scheduling and checking in patients, insurance eligibility verification, processing medical records, updating patient records as needed, collecting copayments and account balances at check-in, patient recalls, and other clerical duties as assigned.Our ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a positive "can-do" attitude. We are open six days a week, schedules will vary, and rotating Saturdays are required.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to speak effectively and respectfully with diverse patient populations and coworkers.Previous experience in a front desk or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.Certification in medical office administration or a related field.One year of experience with medical scheduling.Fluency in a language other than English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, would be a bonus!Responsibilities:Greet patients and families warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the calendar to optimize the flow of patients.Determines financial status and insurance eligibility. Maintains accurate up-to-date insurance and billing information.Collects copays and patient payments according to clinic protocols.Handle incoming calls and inquiries, providing accurate information and assistance.Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with privacy regulations.Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and address any scheduling conflicts or concerns.Skills:The required skill of clear and professional communication is essential for effectively interacting with a diverse patient base, ensuring that all patients feel understood and valued.
