The 7D Van Driver provides safe, dependable transportation to YMCA program sites in Quincy. This position also supervises children during transportation, maintains the assigned vehicle, and communicates with school and YMCA staff to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.

Essential Functions
- Safely transport children from school to assigned Afterschool program locations.
- Supervise passengers and use positive guidance techniques while driving.
- Follow all YMCA, EEC, ADA, Department of Transportation, and 7D requirements.
- Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and transportation records.
- Monitor vehicle safety, cleanliness, fuel, equipment, and maintenance needs.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, incidents, or concerns to the Director and Site Coordinators.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, school contacts, and YMCA staff.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years and possess an excellent driving record.
- Current 7D certificate or school bus license, or ability to obtain the required credential before driving.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts driving laws and transportation requirements.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications required before driving.
- Strong communication, leadership, and crisis-management skills.
- Dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable supervising children.
