Role Description The Marine Detailer is a full-time, on-site role based on Long island. This role is responsible for performing exterior and interior detailing on a variety of boats, including washing, buffing, waxing, ceramic coating application, and gelcoat and hull care. Daily tasks include cleaning and protecting surfaces, maintaining equipment and supplies, following safety procedures on docks and in marinas, and ensuring each vessel meets company quality standards. The Marine Detailer will travel to client locations, interact professionally with boat owners and marina staff, and provide consistent, high-quality service in varying outdoor conditions. The role also involves documenting completed work, assisting with scheduling, and supporting ongoing marine management services as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on marine detailing skills, including exterior washing, interior cleaning, buffing, waxing, and ceramic coating application.
- Knowledge of marine surfaces and materials, such as fiberglass, gelcoat, brightwork, and upholstery, and appropriate products for their care.
- Ability to work safely on docks and around marinas, including adherence to safety procedures and comfort working outdoors in changing weather.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and reliability to complete scheduled jobs efficiently and to a high standard.
- Professional communication and customer service skills for interacting with boat owners, marina personnel, and team members.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting equipment, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in marine detailing, automotive detailing, or related cleaning/maintenance fields is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn company processes and products, follow instructions, and work both independently and as part of a small team.
