We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Service Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and marine systems. Marine experience is helpful but not required. We strongly encourage applicants with backgrounds in automotive, powersports, RV, motorcycle, diesel, or heavy equipment repair.
What You’ll Do
As a Marine Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain boats and marine systems to ensure every unit is safe, reliable, and meets dealership quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair outboard, sterndrive, and inboard engines
- Perform routine maintenance, seasonal services, winterization, and spring commissioning
- Troubleshoot mechanical, fuel, cooling, steering, and electrical systems
- Install and rig engines, marine electronics, trolling motors, and accessories
- Inspect, maintain, and repair boat trailers
- Complete repair orders accurately and document all work performed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate repair status and recommendations with service advisors and management
- Participate in manufacturer and dealership training programs
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Mechanical repair experience in marine, automotive, powersports, RV, diesel, or related industries
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Solid mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Basic computer skills for service documentation
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Willingness to work overtime during peak season
Preferred Experience
- Marine service experience
- OEM certifications (Mercury, MerCruiser, Ilmor, etc.)
- Marine electrical and electronics experience
- Trailer repair experience
