OFFICE ASSISTANT
SSCC is a warm and welcoming early childhood center dedicated to providing a nurturing, engaging environment for young children to learn and grow. Our team is passionate about supporting both children and families. We’re looking for an organized, dependable Office Assistant to help our school run smoothly every day.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Office Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of our center. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the office and teaching staff, helping ensure that classrooms are stocked, documents are organized, and families receive timely communication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform general office duties, including photocopying, answering the phone, data entry, touring prospective families, walking children and/or items to classrooms, etc.
- Assist with maintaining organized classroom, office, and bathroom supply inventories; restock materials as needed
- Greet visitors and assist with routine parent inquiries
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school degree or equivalent education
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Friendly, professional communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment
- Prior office or clerical experience preferred
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
- Have dependable transportation
- Complete all required training according to OCFS regulations
JOB DETAILS:
- Full-time, year-round position (12 months)
- Consistent daytime schedule (10am - 6pm or similar)
- Work Location: In-person (West Islip, NY 11795)
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
