This position requires a friendly and outgoing, high-energy person to greet and work with students and faculty in the Science Learning Center. They will assist students with questions, as well as oversee study rooms and the circulation of anatomy models. They will supervise student workers in the area, who will assist them in their regular duties. Additionally, they will coordinate preparations and logistics for events held in the Science Learning Center.
HOURS:
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Greets and assists students with questions and helps to address concerns.
- Oversees study room reservations and bookings.
- Oversees the circulation of anatomy models and other equipment for student use.
- Works with faculty on preparations and logistics for events.
- Supervises work-study students (an average of 6-7 students per semester).
- With assistance from Library staff, maintains computers and printers in the copy room.
- Ensures proper opening of the Science Building.
- Maintains a clean and professional looking space.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises six to seven student workers. Responsibilities include training student employees; working with the Director of Libraries in planning, assigning, and directing the students’ work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required: High school diploma, associates degree preferred; excellent customer service and communication skills; strong computer skills; punctuality; professional demeanour.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents including receipts, invoices and monthly reports. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records. Ability to effectively present information to faculty and other college employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and develop statistical information. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
