What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Maintenance position at South Ogden City?
Performs a variety of entry level duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of city utility and public works service systems including streets, water transmission, wastewater collection, and pressurized irrigation.
This position Operates specialized heavy equipment such as single & tandem axle dump trucks, road graders, cats/bulldozers, front-end loaders, backhoe, bucket trucks, snowplow and other similar equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of various Street, Water or Sewer Department projects and sites.
This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of general work experience in a field related to the duties listed above. The incumbent must be able to work "on-Call" and be able to respond to City calls within 30 minutes of the call. Incumbents must also be able to lift 50-75 pounds on a continual basis and obtain a class "A" CDL with tanker endorsement within 180 days of hire.
The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.24 - $27.43 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefits package.
