What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Maintenance position at South Ogden City?
South Ogden is recruiting for a Park Maintenance Worker. This position performs a variety of entry level duties related to landscaping and gardening activities; operating lawn mowing equipment; mowing and trimming grass, bushes, shrubs and plants.
Park Maintenance workers operate a variety of types of small and light equipment, such as mowers, sod cutters, chain saws, pruning equipment, backhoe, loaders, trenchers, aeration tractor, and various hand tools; performs routine and regular maintenance on equipment to assure efficiency and safety.
Workers oversee general cleanup, maintenance, and repair of restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, picnic tables, benches, bleachers, ball fields, and other facilities.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of general work experience.
Candidates must possess a valid Utah driver's license and have a clean MVR, must also be able to lift 20-50 pounds on a continual basis and be capable of obtaining and maintaining two of the following:
CDL Class A
ISA - Certified Arborist
CPO - Certified Pool Operator
CPSI- Certified Playground Safety Inspector
Pesticide applicator license
Preference will be given to those with experience working on a park maintenance crew or already have any of the above certifications.
The starting hourly wage for this position is $18.86 - $25.81 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus an excellent benefits package.
