What are the responsibilities and job description for the 9-12 Science position at South O Brien Community School District?
South O’Brien Community School District has an anticipated opening for a 9–12 Science Teacher who is passionate about inspiring curiosity and helping students make meaningful connections in the world around them.
At South O’Brien, our science teachers play an important role in developing critical thinking, problem solving, and real world application skills. We are seeking someone who is student focused, engaging, and collaborative, and who is eager to be part of a supportive school community.
Serving approximately 600 PK through 12 students across the communities of Paullina, Primghar, Sutherland, Calumet, Gaza, and Germantown, our district offers a close knit environment where staff truly know their students.
This is an exciting time to join South O’Brien. Voters recently approved a 26 million dollar bond that supports major additions and renovations at our secondary campus in Paullina along with improvements to our elementary site in Primghar. This reflects strong community support and investment in our schools.
We take pride in:
• A positive and student focused culture
• Strong collaboration among staff
• Opportunities for hands on and innovative instruction
• Ongoing support from the South O’Brien Community School District Foundation
Our mission is to prepare students to be responsible citizens and lifelong learners while providing an innovative and high quality educational experience.
