About the Role
South King Fire has an exciting opportunity to be part of the Finance team. This role helps serve the community by applying strategic thinking and innovation to maintain financial responsibility and public trust. As our Finance Analyst, you won’t just crunch numbers — you’ll help guide the financial future of South King Fire. You’ll turn complex data into actionable insights that support budgeting, capital planning, and long-term sustainability. Essential Functions
Funding Oversight & Analysis: Ensure compliance with funding mechanisms, assist with forecasting, cash flow, and capital planning, monitor King County records, and serve as the community liaison for funding-related inquiries.
Timekeeping & Scheduling Administration: Manage daily operations of the timekeeping system, make time sheet adjustments, support scheduling processes, and provide training and system setup.
Procurement & Purchasing Compliance: Oversee purchasing activities in line with regulations, coordinate bid processes, maintain financial contracts and maintain accurate procurement records.
Financial Operations Support: Provide backup support for core financial functions, including general ledger transactions, payroll processing, and accounts payable.
Skills
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and adaptable to new technologies.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professional integrity.
Qualifications
- 3 years of professional finance, budgeting, or data analysis experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must be available to work outside regular business hours when needed.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- 100% of work is performed in a typical office environment. We are an in-person office and do not work remotely.
- Constantly operate a computer or other office equipment.
- Constantly communicate with internal and external customers and vendors.
- Lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds on occasion.
