What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health and Wellness Administrator | Senior Living position at South Hill Village Assisted Living and Memory Care?
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Health & Wellness Administrator to lead our Health and Wellness Department. In this key leadership role, you will oversee all day-to-day operations of our health services team, ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. You will report directly to the Executive Director and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our senior community.
What you'll do
- Manage staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriately trained personnel are on duty at all times.Plan, develop, and evaluate all Health & Wellness Department programs and activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations; collaborate with the Executive Director on required plans of correction.
- Oversee the department budget, including expense forecasting, labor cost monitoring, and cost control.
- Build and maintain relationships with local medical professionals, pharmacy services, and third-party payers.
- Lead the community's infection control program, including PPE procurement and vaccination clinic scheduling.
- Conduct evaluations of prospective residents and participate in move-in coordination (DME, medications, services).
- Facilitate care conferences and ensure timely notification of primary care providers and families regarding changes in condition.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Risk Management action plans to support resident safety.
- Serve as a liaison for residents, families, and staff alongside the Executive Director.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
- 35 years of experience supervising a retirement community or long-term care facility.
- Current licensure as a healthcare center administrator in the applicable state (required).
- Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present effectively to staff, families, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software.
- Genuine passion for working with and advocating for a senior population.
