Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities related to the South Highland Child Development Center, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure high-quality output.
- Lead and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment while providing guidance on culinary techniques and safety protocols.
- Oversee inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction to optimize food costs and minimize shortages.
- Implement and monitor food safety sanitizing procedures in compliance with health regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Plan menus in collaboration with South Highland Leadership teams, incorporating dietary requirements and ensuring variety and presentation standards are met.
- Manage shift operations efficiently, ensuring timely service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
- Enforce strict adherence to food handling regulations, hygiene standards, and sanitation practices across all kitchen areas.
Qualifications
- Deep familiarity with USDA/CACFP guidelines and strict adherence to safe food handling practices.
- Active ServSafe/Safe Food Handling Certification.
- Proven experience in food production, kitchen management, or restaurant leadership roles within the food industry.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with strong team management skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and food service management practices.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and menu planning for diverse dietary needs.
- Strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to lead by example in cooking, food preparation, and maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
