JOB LOCATION : Diabetes Management Center
DEPARTMENT: DIABETES MANAGEMENT CLINIC
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8:00-5:00 M-Thurs 08-12 Friday
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists APRN/PA-C and physician by preparing patient for examination. Assists APRN/PA-C and /or physician by checking patients out, going over instructions, order refills, and completes any necessary orders ordered by physicians. Assists with patient care including procedures, ekg’s & vital signs, verifying medication list, downloading pumps, meters and sensors. Must be able to accurately transcribe into patient’s electronic medical record. Performs clerical duties and must be able to operate office equipment, computer. Assists in scheduling and obtaining precertification’s, referrals & authorizations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.

Certified Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Two years of medical back office experience required. Diabetes Management preferred.

Current CPR certification.
- General office skills and medical terminology preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS- ADA INFORMATION:
Works primarily in the medical office setting, consistent shift and unit. Requires moderate to frequent lifting (excess of 50 lbs.), bending, and assisting in same, using correct techniques. Must be able to operate office equipment, computer terminals and keyboards, computerized lab equipment. Likely to be exposed to blood, body fluids and infectious diseases. Requires extensive walking during shift.
