Nurse Practitioner – Urgent Care

Position Description:

An advanced practice nurse in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with a variety of illnesses in the Urgent Care setting. This position will fall under the SGEMA Emergency Medicine group and will be a 1099 employee. Will work alongside the Urgent Care staff, providing comprehensive care;responsibilities include performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, administering medications, educating patients, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. EMR is Epic.

Qualifications:

· Must possess a Master of Science in Nursing.

· Graduate of an accredited, post-basic educational program for Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants

· Georgia Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant License

· Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants

· Maintains biennial renewal of Board Authorization to practice as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

· CPR Certification

· ACLS Certification within 180 days of employment

· Prior Urgent Care or ER nursing experience required

· Preferably four years of healthcare employment experience

· Flexible work schedule, assignments, workloads, setting priorities and utilizing problem solving techniques

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within an inter-disciplinary team and with referring physicians to provide high quality patient care

· Passionate about quality, service excellence, safety, process improvement, program development and team building

· Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to create a positive and productive environment that promotes collegiality and innovation in all settings
