What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Banker I position at SOUTH GEORGIA BANKING COMPANY?
Universal Banker I provides exceptional service to customers at the banking center by performing teller transactions, resolving basic customer inquiries, and supporting limited customer service functions. This role includes foundational digital banking support and basic debit card administration. Universal Banker I serves as the customer’s first point of contact and is responsible for maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to all bank policies and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Experience
- Greet and assist customers in person and by phone, following SGBC Service Standards.
- Respond to basic customer questions and concerns; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Identify opportunities to refer customers to products and services that meet their needs
Teller & Transactional Processing
- Accept and process deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, and sales of cashier’s checks.
- Balance teller drawer daily and report discrepancies promptly.
- Follow all federal regulations related to funds availability and transaction processing.
- Support operation of ATMs and night depository as assigned.
Basic CSR, Digital Banking & Debit Card Support
- Perform Digital Banking Admin tasks including unlocking online banking users and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist customers with debit card activation, PIN resets, and debit card maintenance requests.
- Handle basic debit card disputes using fintegrate, including initial documentation and claim submission.
Compliance & Operational Standards
- Maintain knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and product features.
- Adhere strictly to BSA/AML, OFAC, privacy, and security requirements.
- Participate in assigned training and cross-training.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High school diploma and equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year teller or related banking experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to learn banking systems.
