Job Description
South Florida Produce is a fast-growing produce distributor, and we’re looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Associate to join our finance team. This role supports our AP department by reviewing vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders, and ensuring accurate, timely payments.
This position is based onsite in Immokalee, FL.
Pay rate based on experience
Responsibilities
- Review and code supplier invoices and supporting documents; enter into accounting system
- Handle supplier inquiries and follow up as needed
- Work with buyers to resolve cost discrepancies and track changes
- Respond to vendor questions and resolve payment issues promptly
- Prepare payments (ACH, wire, checks)
- Prepare hand checks when necessary
- Maintain AP aging reports with notes for management
- Manage positive pay files
Experience
- 4 years of Accounts Payable experience (transactional accounting preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
Requirements
- Experience with Produce Pro, Famous, Thyme, or QuickBooks Enterprise is a plus
- Strong computer, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Able to code invoices, credits, discrepancies, and payments correctly
- Able to work independently and with peers

- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
