The SFMA is a 501(c)6, non-profit organization founded in 1961 designed to support and promote manufacturing in South Florida. The SFMA is considered one of the largest regional manufacturing associations in the State of Florida with over 6,000 manufacturing companies. The SFMA represents companies in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach counties, and the Treasure Coast, fostering collaboration, education, and advocacy within the manufacturing community. Position Summary
This position reports directly to the SFMA President. The SFMA is hiring an Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of our events calendar, including up to 5 signature, revenue-generating events (paid attendance sponsorship opportunities) and 24 member events each year. This role also supports event marketing and social content to drive attendance, engagement, and sponsor value.
Key Responsibilities:
Signature Events
- Own end-to-end production of SFMA’s signature and revenue-generating events (e.g., Annual Meeting/Showcase, Golf Tournament, Recognition of Excellence): timelines, budgets, vendor/venue coordination, volunteer management, A/V, catering, layouts, signage, staffing, run-of-show, onsite operations, etc.
- Manage sponsor and exhibitor experience (as applicable): confirmations, logistics, deliverables, and intentional fulfillment.
- Develop/track Develop and Track performance metrics (attendance, budget, sponsor fulfillment, satisfaction feedback) and deliver post-event reporting.
- Facilitate and lead event committee meetings.
- Strategically develop and disseminate event sponsorship proposals with support of SFMA staff.
Member Programming
- Coordinate SFMA’s member events such as networking programs, workshops, roundtables, etc. (virtual and in-person).
- Create and use standardized templates and workflows to execute high-volume events consistently and efficiently.
- Develop/track performance metrics and deliver post-event reporting
Marketing & Communications Support
- Support event promotion and attendance growth through coordinated timelines and content calendars (save-the-dates, reminders, logistics emails, and post-event recaps).
- Assist with content related to events: capturing/collecting photos and highlights, drafting recap posts, and amplifying sponsor/member visibility (in collaboration with the SFMA team/partners).
- Create and update event promotion materials such as sponsorship packets, event flyers, sponsor recognition graphics.
Operations, Budgeting & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage event budgets.
- Track invoices and reconciliation accurately.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with venues and vendors; obtain certificates of insurance (when needed) and event documentation.
- Develop and maintain event templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent execution and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Required
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive event planning/production experience (associations, nonprofits, corporate events, conferences, trade shows, etc.).
- Ability to demonstrate examples of successful event management strategies, event marketing strategies, and success in past events you managed.
- Ability to demonstrate skills to plan and manage events ranging from as low as 20 to those that are several hundreds in attendance.
- You must live within the South Florida region (Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties) and be willing throughout South Florida as needed.
- Proven ability to manage multiple events/projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Strong vendor/venue coordination skills and confident onsite leadership.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfort with event registration platforms (Eventbrite or similar), spreadsheets, and attendee reporting.
- Ability to work occasional evenings.
- Experience managing sponsorship fulfillment and/or exhibitor logistics.
- Experience supporting marketing/social promotion for events (copywriting, recap posts, content capture).
- Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Preferred
- Experience working in an association management environment (e.g., trade association, chamber of commerce, industry group, etc..).
- Familiarity with manufacturing, workforce development, or business associations.
- Bilingual – English and Spanish is a plus but not required.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
