South County Mental Health Center is looking for Supervisor for our Crisis Stabilization Unit

This position is a middle management position with the responsibility for the daily management of the unit and staff activities, scheduling, orientation, development, implementation, reporting of unit procedures, and the coordination of resident flow from CSU to the internal/external SCMHC services. It does require Tues -Sat, 4pm to Midnight.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for staffing according to shift needs and requirements
• Responsible for hiring, orientation, training, evaluating and on-site daily supervision of staff.
• Monitoring the recordkeeping of 01/UM information, monthly statistics, and incidents reports
• Establish, maintain and update the unit's policies and procedures
• Responsible for working with the Facility Director to ensure that the housekeeping, maintenance and dietary needs of the unit are met.
• Conduct monthly staff meetings
• Is on call by SCMHC; furnished phone to provide staff coverage to keep unit operable 7 days a week, 365 days a year
• Completes evaluations of staff performance and staff development plans
• Directs the treatment team to ensure that appropriate treatments is given to the clients while on the unit and disposition at the time of discharge
• Responsible for monitoring the legal status of clients while on the unit as it pertains to F.S. 394
• Must be willing to work Holidays
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-3 years experience supervising staff with varied backgrounds
• 3-5 years experience supervising staff with varied backgrounds, preferred
  
  

MEDICAL MENTAL HEALTH

• Must have 1-3 years experience in the mental health field
• Medical background preferred
  
  

WRITTEN & VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS

• Excellent written and verbal communication
  
  

FUNCATIONAL, SPECIALISED & TECHNICAL

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  
  

Education & Experience

• BA/BS in Behavioral Science or an RN License in the State of Florida
• 1-3 years supervisory experience
  
  

PREFERRED

• MA/MS in Behavioral Science or an RN License in the State of Florida
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
